Aviva Stadium will reopen its doors on 14th May 2010 and will have a seated capacity of 50,000.

Catering

The catering facilities in Aviva Stadium are second to none. The contract for all catering in the new stadium was awarded to Compass Catering Group who are also official caterers at Twickenham and the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. In Ireland the Compass Group employs over 2,000 people across a wide range of corporate contracts and also to provide the catering at sporting venues such as Leopardstown and Fairyhouse.

The catering in Aviva Stadium will be innovative, creative and varied to meet all diversity of tastes. On match/event days the catering will be provided as follows:

General Admission Areas (Levels 1 and 5)

  • Serviced by 18 bars, 16 food outlets and 2 confectionery units.
  • Will serve up to 70,000 pints of stout and lager, 3,000 hot whiskeys, 2,000 portions of fish and chips, 4,000 speciality ‘Aviva’ gourmet burgers and 5,000 hot beef sandwiches.
  • The ‘state of the art’ beer systems installed are capable of dispensing a pint in four seconds with the capability across the stadium of dispensing over 2,000 pints per minute.

Premium Seats (Levels 2 and 3)

  • Eleven food outlets offering a wide range of products from speciality coffee shops, through grill bars, wok and skewer bars to seafood and champagne and Guinness and oyster bars.
  • The premium areas are serviced also by eleven fully stocked bars offering a wide range of beers, spirits, wines and champagne.

Hospitality Suites (Level 4)

  • The President’s Suite where the event host will entertain 450 guests with a ‘Chef’s Table’ offering dishes from around the world.
  • On the east and west sides of the stadium on level four there are 36 private hospitality suites each accommodating between 12 and 50 guests, the total being 800. The clients will be offered a range of bespoke menus and fine wines to suit their particular guest profile at any one event.

Meetings and Events at Aviva Stadium

The non match day facilities consist of 15 distinct spaces over five of the seven stadium levels plus 36 corporate boxes with various capacities. Spaces vary in size but cover capacities from 2-800 pax in any one space. Also available is the state-of-the-art media auditorium with seating for 190 guests, key outdoor marquee areas and blank canvas event spaces. The majority of spaces have a unique vista overlooking the pitch.

Aviva Stadium is a unique multi purpose event space, offering flexibility, superior catering and AV facilities matched with the highest levels of customer service for all guests.

Employment: Over 6,000 people were employed on the project in various capacities over a three year period. The project consumed approximately 4,000,0000 man hours. At peak construction just over 1,300 people were on site on a daily basis.
Demolition: The whole stadium was demolished over a two month period. Most of the existing structure was crushed on site and 25,000 tonnes of concrete blockwork and brickwork were re-used as fill on site. Over 1,5000 tonnes of steelwork from the old stadium was recycled.
