Thank you and congratulations to Leinster and Munster supporters who set a new Guinness World Record for the most people tossing coins simultaneously on October 6th in Aviva Stadium.
Make-A-Wish® Ireland in conjunction with Bank of Ireland, Leinster Rugby, Coinstar and Aviva Stadium were successful in attempting to break a world record for the amount of coin tosses, simultaneously with €34,000 raised for the charity who grant wishes to children living with life threatening conditions. This unique event took place at the Aviva stadium on Saturday 6th October at half time during the Leinster and Munster rugby match.
The successful attempt which was staged during half time means the new Guinness World Record now stands at 36,222 people.
Susan O’Dwyer, Chief Executive, Make-A-Wish said: “We are so delighted to have broken this world record and we want to thank all the Leinster and Munster fans who got behind this great cause at half time in the Leinster and Munster rugby clash. To do this in the year where we are celebrating 20 years as a charity in Ireland is a great achievement. On behalf of Make-A-Wish and Bank of Ireland I would like to thank our partners in this endeavour: Aviva Stadium and their staff, IRFU, Leinster Rugby, Coinstar and all our volunteers.”
