As Liverpool FC took on Celtic FC competing in the Dublin Decider, Aviva Stadium chose to commemorate the occasion by commissioning a hand crafted, Irish made match ball from the team at gameball.ie.
The match ball is made from maple and walnut, featured the logos of both clubs and spins on a plinth that commemorates the date and location of the fixture. These gifts were presented to representatives from both clubs at half time by Martin Murphy, Stadium Director at Aviva Stadium and John Delaney Chief Executive of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI).

This is the second time that Aviva Stadium has commemorated a game with a commemorative ball from gameball.ie, the first being an American Football handcrafted from Irish mahogany and stitched with American maple to commemorate the Emerald Isle Classic where Navy took on Notre Dame.
