Dublin is proud to host seven matches of UEFA EURO 2028 at Dublin Arena in June 2028.

This landmark tournament will see Ireland welcome a major international football competition for the first time, bringing the city and country to life with world-class football.

Dublin Match Dates

The following UEFA EURO 2028 matches will take place at Dublin Arena:

  • Saturday 10 June 2028
  • Monday 12 June 2028*
  • Friday 16 June 2028*
  • Monday 19 June 2028
  • Wednesday 21 June 2028*
  • Tuesday 27 June 2028
  • Friday 30 June 2028

* If the Republic of Ireland qualifies directly for UEFA EURO 2028, they will play their three group stage matches in Dublin on these dates.

Kick-off Times

Kick-off times will be confirmed following the official UEFA EURO 2028 final draw in December 2027.

UEFA has confirmed three daily kick-off slots across the tournament:

  • 14:00 (Irish time)
  • 17:00 (Irish time)
  • 20:00 (Irish time)

Ticket Information

Tickets will go on sale after the final tournament draw, once group stage fixtures have been confirmed.

Further details on ticketing phases and allocations will be released in Autumn 2027.

Tournament Venues

UEFA EURO 2028 will be hosted across Ireland and the United Kingdom as part of a joint bid awarded by UEFA in October 2023.

Host cities and stadiums include:

  • Cardiff: National Stadium of Wales
  • Dublin: Dublin Arena
  • Glasgow: Hampden Park
  • Newcastle: St James' Park
  • Manchester: Manchester City Stadium
  • Liverpool: Everton Stadium
  • Birmingham: Villa Park
  • London: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
  • London: Wembley Stadium

Tournament Format

UEFA EURO 2028 will follow the established format used since UEFA EURO 2016:

  • 24 teams compete in the group stage
  • Top two teams from each group progress to the Round of 16
  • Four best third-placed teams also qualify
  • From the Round of 16 onward, the competition follows a straight knockout format

The tournament bracket is pre-determined, allowing teams and fans to map potential routes to the final from the outset.

Qualification Path

A new consolidated qualification format will be introduced:

  • 12 groups of 4 or 5 teams
  • Home-and-away matches
  • Qualifying group stage runs March–November 2027
  • Group winners qualify directly
  • Runners-up may qualify directly or enter play-offs (March 2028) alongside UEFA Nations League teams

As hosts, Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales will participate in the qualification process. Two tournament places are reserved for host nations that do not qualify directly, allocated based on overall European Qualifiers rankings if required.
